village pub

Located in the historic market town of Hay-on-Wye on the England/Wales border, the Three Tuns Pub and Restaurant is reputed to be the oldest surviving house in the town and in recognition of its importance has a Grade II listing. The original building is believed to be a 16th Century three bay cruck truss timber frame building, now largely encased in stone. It has a huge central Inglenook chimney and a wealth of period features including the original dog leg staircase.

The pub welcomes loyal locals, along with visitors from further afield, serving a selection of local beers, cask ales and great wines by the glass. The restaurant offers an Italian-inspired menu which is available throughout the day to enjoy in front of a crackling fire during winter or on our sun-soaked terrace in the summer.

Ellie & Dan look forward to welcoming you soon.

It is with a heavy heart we announce that Gaz, our father, father in law and colleague sadly passed away on Thursday 9th of March, following his long battle with cancer, as well as kidney disease.

Anyone who knew Gaz, will know what a fighter he was, overcoming so much that life threw at him. Gaz’s fighting spirit remained till the very end and that strength and determination will always be an inspiration to everyone that knew him. Many of our staff had the pleasure of working with Gaz at some point and he was known for making the best pizzas and despite struggling with his health would often come in to lend a hand and took much pride in making sure our kitchen sparkled and remained well organised.

Gaz will be sorely missed by us all, however will be remembered always for his strength, love and compassion.
